A shutdown storm impacts our parks and economy. L A shutdown storm impacts our parks and economy. Lend your voice to the petition in my bio to remind Congress:

From my nonpartisan friends @npcapics protecting our parks since 1919:

When Congress shut down the federal government in 2018, we all saw the impact on national park resources and staff, as well as their partners and gateway communities. Trash bins and outhouses overflowed because Park Service staff were furloughed. Historic buildings were closed and locked. Untold acres of delicate ecosystems were ravaged by illegal off-roading. Joshua Trees were cut down.

For 35 days, national parks paid the price. And now Congress is on the verge of another shutdown due to a broken budget process that is threatening the park service with a damaging cut of more than ten percent, which would further undercut the protection of parks and the tourism economy.

Rhino Reality: A few years ago, I worked with wild Rhino Reality: A few years ago, I worked with wildlife conservationists trying to prevent rhino poaching. My favorite moment was waiting for the rhino to wake up as I filmed in a small tree a few feet away - hoping he wouldn’t see me when he did.

Today, black rhinos are critically endangered, rebounding from near extinction a few decades ago to over 6,000 individuals today — a big comeback, but still a far cry from what their numbers once were. Hopefully continued conservation efforts by groups like @africanparksnetwork and @lewaconservancy will continue to help this remarkable species (back and white rhinos) grow and thrive.
Happy World Rhino Day.

Check out my friend @bertiegregory new series #Ani Check out my friend @bertiegregory new series #AnimalsUpClose now streaming on Disney+. He’s been on some awesome adventures to track down killer whales creating waves in Antarctica, pumas in Patagonia, surfing marine iguanas in the Galapagos, wild dogs hunting for their very cute pups in Botswana and even close calls with jungle elephants in the Central African Republic. The team also showcases the challenges facing these species and celebrates some amazing people working to turnaround the human relationship with the natural world.

Nice work Bertie. Get some rest now.
