I’m honored my @sciencemagazine cover image about our changing Polar Worlds won an honorable nod by @nppa for best magazine cover.

Here are a few frames from our frozen realm at the bottom of the world.

And here is what I wrote for the cover caption.
“When icy winds subside on the Fish Islands on the west coast of Graham Land, there are moments of blissful stillness away from the bustle of the world to the north. Nonetheless, the industrialized busyness beyond is quietly melting this frozen realm. The Antarctica Peninsula is facing some of the highest temperature increases on the planet.”

I’ve done something crazier than usual - I WROTE a book. #WitnesstoWater comes out next month. (Pre-orders available now - link in bio).

I’ve spent much of my adult life documenting fresh water and the drying challenges of my backyard river - The Colorado. In doing so, I often pushed myself to my limits but always found courage and inspiration by teaming up with family and friends.

Writing a personal book about it all - love and loss - and gearing up for it to come out (March 17th) is perhaps scarier than my many thirsty hair raising outings.

Thanks to all at @hierophantpublishing for seeing this through and the scores of people who prodded and pulled me down the path.
