Vindravand, India, on the banks of the Yamuna River (major tributary to the Ganges), is considered very holy. With over 2000 ashrams, people come to the river daily to bath and even drink it despite open sewage lines pouring into the river unchecked. Many Krishna followers come here as well and sing and dance nightly above the banks of the river.
